Braeside is one of those houses that opens up and surprises you, deceptively spacious inside, beautifully renovated throughout, and full of the kind of thoughtful touches that make a holiday feel genuinely special rather than just somewhere to sleep.
The large sitting room at the front is exactly what you'd want after a day on the sand. Comfortable, relaxed and a brilliant spot to watch village life go by through the window with a drink in hand. At the rear, light pours through bi-folds into a striking open-plan kitchen and dining space, the real heart of the house. Cooking here is a genuine pleasure on the large range, and the separate utility room with toilet is one of those details you'll quietly appreciate all week. The kitchen spills out naturally into an enclosed, secure garden, safe for children to run out into and perfect for dogs who've decided the indoors can wait. Step outside and you'll find a proper sun trap of an outdoor dining area, where the stone chiminea comes into its own, ideal for long lunches, evening meals and squeezing out every last drop of sunshine.
Head upstairs to the first floor where you'll find two king bedrooms. The master at the front has its own en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is well-equipped, with a deep bath for soaking off the salt after a beach day and a power shower for those who prefer things quick and hot.
Up again to the top floor and tucked into the eaves sits a twin room, cosy, characterful and perfect for children or anyone who likes a room with a bit of personality.
One more thing before you go exploring. The owners have hidden a collection of cheeky wooden mice around the house for young guests to find, a little 'hide and squeak' adventure built right into your stay. Some of them are still waiting for names, so if your little ones find them, share what they've decided. We'd love to hear it.
The beach? One minute on foot. The village cafés, restaurants and shops? Right on your doorstep. Rhosneigr is one of those places that gets under your skin and Braeside puts you right in the thick of it.
Parking is on-street throughout the village, with a library car park a short walk away. It's worth noting there's no designated space, but guests generally find it straightforward, especially outside peak season.
