Please note: Room 15 is a loft apartment accessed via two flights of stairs, which may not suit all guests. Some areas of the room have a slanted roofline, though there is plenty of comfortable headroom throughout.

Sometimes the best trips are the ones closest to home. A couple of nights somewhere with a sea view, a friend to share it with, and nothing on the agenda but a decent coffee and a walk along the coast. The Wave, Room 15 is exactly that kind of place.

Tucked up in the loft of Y Glan, Rhosneigr's brand-new Aparthotel, right in the heart of the village, Room 15 has a character all of its own. It's light and bright, with a social layout that makes it perfect for two couples, a group of friends, or a family looking for a short, easy break without the overhead of a big holiday house.

The separate lounge area gives everyone a place to land, a comfy sofa, room to spread out, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes two nights feel like four. The kitchen is a sizeable space with a table for four, a cafetière, an air fryer, and everything you need to do breakfast your way before heading out for the day and another bit, there are peeks of the sea from the kitchen window.

One king and a comfortable double bedroom mean everyone gets their own space, and the shower room is there for all to share. The loft setting gives the apartment a tucked-away feel. Climb the two flights of stairs to get here, worth flagging for any guests who find steps tricky and you'll find a genuinely lovely retreat above the rooftops of Rhosneigr.

For those who like to travel light or stay a little longer, the communal laundry room is available to all guests, with large washing machines, tumble dryers, ironing boards, irons and drying racks all on hand. Pack less, stay fresher, stay longer.

Outside, there's an enclosed grassy area to the front of the building, perfect for the dog to stretch out, for a quiet moment with a coffee, or for kids to let off steam. Y Glan is a genuinely dog-friendly building, and your four-legged travel companion is very much part of the welcome here. Round the back is a seating area, sheltered and a little sun trap with individual storage huts for each apartment to use.

The beach is moments away. The village, its cafés, restaurants, shops and coastal paths is right on your doorstep. Whether you're here for a catch-up with friends, a weekend away with another couple, or just a proper breather from the everyday, The Wave delivers everything a short stay should: comfort, a little sea air, and just enough distance from real life to make it count.
