Y Glan Aparthotel

A Great Excuse to Get Away

Forget the big holiday for a minute. The one that takes six months to plan and two weeks to recover and catch from. Sometimes what you actually need is one or two nights, no long drives, no airports, no overpacking. Just you, a good base, and a village that knows how to do seaside properly.

Rhosneigr has an effect on people. You arrive thinking you’ll stay a couple of nights and find yourself already planning the next visit before you’ve even left. And now, right in the heart of it all, Y Glan Aparthotel has arrived, and it’s exactly what this village has been waiting for.

So, What Is Y Glan and an Aparthotel

Y Glan is a brand-new aparthotel sitting in the centre of Rhosneigr on the Isle of Anglesey. The concept originally came from Europe, a smarter middle ground between a hotel and a self-catering holiday let.  Think hotel-standard comfort, but with your own front door. Your own kitchen. Your own sofa (in some apartments). Your own pace.

It’s the best of both worlds, the ease of a well-finished, ready-to-go space without the stuffiness of a hotel corridor or the faff of someone else’s check-in queue. You arrive, you settle in, and it’s yours.

There are currently two apartments available.

The Dunes, Room 12, Made for Two

If you and your person have been saying ‘we really need to get away’ for the last three months, this is your sign.

The Dunes is a stylish studio apartment, light, bright, beautifully finished, and designed for exactly the kind of trip where you don’t need much because the whole point is to switch off. There’s a large king bed, a kitchenette, and a private en-suite. A large TV for the evenings you want to stay in. Everything else you need is a short walk out the front door.

How long should you stay? A long weekend is the sweet spot, arrive Friday evening, leave Monday morning. That said, a midweek break here in shoulder season? Genuinely one of life’s underrated pleasures.

Who’s it for? Couples, solo travellers, anyone who just needs a proper reset. It’s also pet friendly, so yes, the dog comes too.

The Wave, Room 15, Made for a Crew

You know that group chat where someone keeps saying “we should just go somewhere”? Make it happen. The Wave is a loft apartment that sleeps four across a king and one double, with a separate lounge, a kitchen with a table for four, and peeks of the sea from the kitchen window. It’s sociable without being on top of each other, everyone gets their space, but the layout naturally pulls you back together for the good bits.

The loft setting gives it a real character. There’s a slanted roofline in places (it’s a loft, after all) but plenty of headroom throughout, and the two flights of stairs are worth it for the views.

How long should you stay? Two nights minimum, you’ll want a full day in the middle to actually explore. Three nights is ideal. Long enough to feel like a proper trip, short enough to keep it spontaneous.

Who’s it for? Two couples, a group of friends, or a small family wanting a bit more room. Also pet friendly, and with an enclosed grassy area out front, dogs are genuinely in their element here.

The Village on Your Doorstep

Here’s the thing about Rhosneigr, it punches well above its weight for a small village. The beaches are moments away and it’s the kind of wide, sandy, west-facing stretch that turns golden in the evening light. There are surf schools if you fancy getting in the water, coastal paths if you’d rather stay dry, and enough good cafés and restaurants to make every meal a decision worth having.

The village pub is an easy walk. So are the independent shops, the ice cream, and the general sense that life here moves at a slightly better pace than wherever you’ve come from.

Whether you’re on a bike, a board, or just a pair of good trainers, Rhosneigr has something to offer and Y Glan puts you right in the middle of it.

The Practical Stuff

Both apartments come with kitchens, a cafetière, an air fryer. There’s a communal laundry room with large washing machines and tumble dryers, ironing boards and drying racks, so you can pack lighter than you think. Parking on site. Complimentary arrival essentials in every room, an enclosed grassy area out front for dogs, a sun trap with seating at the back with storage beach huts for guests to use.

Check in from 4pm. Check out by 10am. Everything else is up to you.

Y Glan Aparthotel is new, it’s stylish, it’s right where you want to be, and it’s the kind of place that makes a short break feel genuinely worthwhile. Whether you’re five miles away and long overdue a night off, or you’ve been meaning to explore Anglesey properly for years this is a brilliant place to start.

Two apartments. One great village. Zero reasons not to book.
